General Processing and Visualization Features
- Selectively show/hide analytical traces in series
- Copy shown-data from series to their own window
- Apply custom coloration schemes to series more easily
- Interactively apply offset through the series display
Databasing Features (SpecDB Module)
- Easily review spectral search results in the Processor window for increased reviewing and comparison power
- Store chromatograms, spectra, and curves in a record with their respective set of chemical structure attachments
- Filter data searches according to the date
- Highlight search terms in the results for User Data and User Notes
- Push data in the database Table view directly to Excel
Automation
- Automatically apply macros across all selected analytical files in the Processor window
- New macro commands:
- Switch to the application module that best suits your workflow using a macro
- Delete a specified analytical type from database records using a macro
- Copy only the shown spectra/curves in a series to their own window macro
- Set database update options quickly to custom preferences using a macro
General Processing and Visualization Features
- Lock default window display range to the region of interest to you.
- Better organize your data with the new X-Ray Data type introduced for x-ray powder diffraction and fluorescence type spectra.
- Better organize your data according to User Data subcategories in your custom Data Entry Forms.
- Transfer a zoomed region to the custom Reporting Template automatically.
Databasing Features (SpecDB Module)
- Merge the results of Multiple Database Searches into a shared result database.
- Easily include images found database records into your custom reports.
- Within the active database list, selectively push optical-like spectra (UV-Vis, Raman, IR, etc.) to the processor at the exclusion of associated NMR, MS, or curves spectra, or chromatograms also found in the database records.
- Exploit the improved macro ability to trigger appropriate custom data entry forms based on data set content recognition criteria.
- Perform spectral searches for databases of X-Ray Powder Diffraction or Fluorescence spectra.
- Color Code Plate Displays according to the full set of user data and conditions.
- Other improvements:
- Support images in TIFF format in the database.
- Receive a warning when approaching LOCAL database size limit.
- Easily distinguish between calculated and experimental spectra with clear labels.
Automation
- Automatically manage and organize data according to key text in user data fields.
- Enhanced macro commands
- Check if a document is signed with a macro
- Easily set update options
- Select data entry forms
- Set window caption
General Processing and Visualization Features
- Use multiple annotation layers to characterize your analytical data. Up to ten color-coded levels of annotation can be used.
- Display selected key information in the processing windowpane with the new windowpane information display options.
Databasing Features (SpecDB Module)
- Interconnect data from different techniques to one another in a clear hierarchical system for linking related data. For example, an IR spectrum may be logically linked to a point on a TGA thermogram, a mass and UV-Vis spectrum can be linked to peak in a chromatogram, etc.*
- Store and display images (BMP, JPEG, GIF, PNG) directly in the ACD/SpecManager database.
- Interactively select database records in Tile or Table view using convenient checkboxes.
- Remap and import user data field names to your custom name preferences. This allows for easy creation of aliases and for standardization of terminology across ACD/Labs databases.
- Change User Data values across an entire database list. For example, an abbreviation such as 'nm' could be changed to 'nanometer' or a logical value of 'Yes' could be changed to 'True'.
- Derive calculated values with our new custom data scripting tools. Easily generate secondary properties (calculated, modeled) from the set of primary (observed, measured) data by adding formulas and scripts with mathematical, logical, and comparison operators to create new User Data fields.
*Appropriate ACD/SpecManager technique-specific modules required.
- Support supplementary information associated with the raw analytical data from vendor formats
- Preview spectra in a thumbnail window when importing or exporting
- Dock the zoom window in different locations with the new docking mode
- Support plot legends for the spectral graph objects
- Close active analytical data window through a Close Document button
- Zoom vertically with the mouse wheel
- New hyphenated data support with enhanced capabilities
- Highlight important fields and information within the data forms by changing font styles. Define font style: bold, italic, underline, strikeout; and font size and color (version 7 update)
SpecDB Database Module
- Load data from tables in the Database Graphic windows faster than in the previous version
- Use the new record, spectrum, and structure User Data subcategories
- Apply the improved Screen Forms Manager to the database to:
- Automatically use a specified input form when updating a given database
- Set different forms to be used for different types of stored spectra
- Use the improved Screen Forms Manager, which stores a chosen screen layout directly with your database
- Highlight important fields in screen or database Forms by changing font styles
- Define font style: bold, italic, underline, strikeout; and font size and color
- Enjoy enhanced Display Options and Management for Plate Windows
